Data Mining on Toy Supermarket

I am a manager of a toy supermarket in Hong Kong ??" TOYOU SHOP (just like Toysrus, but much smaller than them). Recently, the owner of my company has heard about the team “Business Intelligence/Data Mining??. He is very interested in it and he wants to spend some money on it. We decide to spend the money on investigating a software package. The purpose of this software package is to analyze the shopping behavior of the customers and predict the sales records by using some data mining algorithms, such as clustering, association rules, classification and, may be, the neural network. (Given that I have taken the Data mining course in the college so that you will be free to use some technical terms to discuss the project with me via emails.) However, we do not have time to develop the system, so we decide to outsource it. We know that the system may be so complex, therefore, we would like break the whole project into two phases. **In Phase I**, we are going to spend about US$500 to US$1500 (excluding all hardware and software costs) to invite a coder to provide a trial or sample system. Dummy data will be used instead of using our real customer and sales records. If this trial system works, we would like to invest more money, say US$3000 or more, to modify the system (perhaps a maintenance team with 2 to 3 people will be employed for the system but it is out of our scope at this moment). This is our **Phase II**. In this phase, the trial system will be extended and enhanced so that it can afford more data and the performance can be made better. But this part will not be considered in our current project, we will focus on **Phase I** only. Please read more in the attached WORD file. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. ## Platform Web Server: Apache / Microsoft IIS Client: Microsoft / Linux Database Server: Oracle
