hello apologies if this is a bit vague,confusing I am looking to build a web site for people looking to buy car parts, the front end of the site site will consist of a list of vehicles which people will load on to the site with there own user account a bit like a person putting a part on Amazon or ebay the public will be able to search these vehicles listed on the site and contact the customer to purchase them so i guess its something similar to an ebay or Amazon site the part which is different to anything else is we will have an api to vehicle data which will tell us the chassis number of the vehicle , this will then be checked on a data base to check if parts are correct the data base will be populated through various cd-roms and other resources this will need to be all collated on to one big data base . we will need data from around 30 manufactuers and it will come in all different formats also we will be looking to build in delivery prices for parts as well with a courier company thanks for looking

We have built several auto parts sites utilizing API feeds. We've also loaded those sites from a variety of sources, including XML and CSV files. Can you explain a little more about your plan? You're going to use the seller's info to find the chassis number (what we call the VIN number here in the States). Are you using this to confirm the seller's info re: make, model and year? How will you confirm the options that the seller claims are on the car?

Don't get tangled in cheap, subpar overseas work. I have done APIs and websites like this before. The website will be stable for years to come and will not cause you headaches after completion. I have worked on 2 websites with similar features at the moment, but just different object (yours is about cars, my 2 were about IPs and Shipping Mail - each come from different places - IP you can have .org, .com, .net, etc. - Shipping Mail you can have from Fedex, DHL, UPS, etc.) You get the point. The shipping one went live and is now private, but the IP one can be found at www.ipaddress-finder.com. Let me know if interested. Cheers, Ajk
